Family Skate Guidelines
-
Open to active Associates and their spouses/dependents (regardless of membership status), and Retirees and Retiree Spouses with current memberships
-
Associates must be on the ice with their families
-
-
All family members must check-in at the front desk before heading to the dressing rooms/ice and MUST agree to all waivers, liabilities, policies, and procedures
-
All proper equipment must be worn when on the ice (i.e., CSA-approved helmet, skates); LWC does not lend out helmets.
-
All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult while on the ice; children cannot be carried in arms.
-
Family skates are for skating; NO hockey sticks, pucks or other sport equipment is permitted on the ice. Skate Assists/Aids are permitted.
-
Any general horseplay, including play fighting, or deliberate interference of other skaters may result in patrons being asked to leave the ice.
-
The center of the ice will be reserved as a “learn to skate” zone; this area is open to those learning to skate, or with young children.
-
If children are to spectate, the Associate MUST follow appropriate child supervision rules
-
Bench areas and designated dressing rooms are available for use during skates.
Guest on Site Policy
-
A sign-in sheet is available at the front desk, which must be signed by guests upon each visit.
-
All children entering the facility MUST be accompanied by an Associate or current member.
-
Associates are responsible to ensure that all guests are signed in.
-
Associates must arrange for proper care for children while at the Honda Recreation Centre. Failure to do so will result in the Associate being removed from the event they are participating in.
Child Supervision Rules
-
Children 0-9 years must be supervised by an adult at all times and in the same space; an adult cannot be skating while the child is in the stands, and vice-versa.
-
Children 10 to 11 years are permitted to view programs without adult supervision. They MUST remain seated in the stands at all times. They are not permitted to supervise other children.
-
Children 12+ years are permitted to supervise younger children. If they are unable to properly supervise a child in their care, an adult must be present.
